The “Great Trade-In,” a program launched by Toys R Us this week, aims to get potentially dangerous used baby products out of circulation, and to raise awareness of the importance of being vigilant about potentially unsafe children’s products that may still be in the marketplace.
The program allows people to bring their used car seats, cribs, and other faulty products of any brand to Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores between Friday, Aug. 28th and Sun., Sept. 20th, 2009, in exchange for a 20% off coupon good toward a new baby product purchase. (You do not need to buy the same item you returned.)
Products that may be traded in include used cribs, car seats, bassinets, strollers and travel systems, play yards, and high chairs. The coupon is good towards purchases in these categories from more than a dozen participating manufacturers.
