After nine model years, Honda is retiring the agile, high-revving S2000 roadster. The 2009 model year will be the last year of production for this enthusiast sports car.
The S2000 has routinely earned high marks in our reliability and owner satisfaction surveys. In our tests, it excelled for handling, acceleration, and fuel economy, and in the unofficial “fun” category. With its high overall rating score, the S2000 is a Recommended model.
The S2000 has been sold in 64 countries around the world, with total sales over 110,000. More than half were sold in the United States. In recent years, sales have dwindled down to just 2,538 in 2008. Over time, the S2000 continued to improve, though remained focused on enthusiast drivers being geared more for track driving than comfort. It has been an entertaining nine years. Good bye, old friend.
