VW of North America CEO Stefan Jacoby gave the keynote speech at yesterday’s International Motor Press Associate breakfast. He said that “Everyone in America has a Volkswagen story.” I’m not sure he meant my story of replacing vacuum hoses, a mass airflow sensor, and trim pieces that fell off my 2000 Passat, but that sort of story isn’t that uncommon. Those sorts of stories probably eclipse a lot--but not all--of the goodwill engendered from the days of the (first) Beetle.
