Nissan Cube hits dealerships
May 7, 2009 9:04 AM

The new small people-and-cargo mover, Nissan Cube is now on sale, and we will be buying one soon for testing.

The boxy, art-deco Cube seats five and has a 122-hp engine, mated to either a six-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission. Base price will be $13,990. It is also available in S, SL, and Krom trim packages.

Nissan has also announced an online marketing campaign for the Cube aimed at young buyers. Similar to Ford’s “Fiesta movement,” Nissan will market the Cube mainly online, in this case with a mobile Web application called the "cube Mobile Hub," where visitors can download ring tones, music, videos desktop wallpaper and a game for the iPhone. The hub will not be live until May 15. The game will also be available on Facebook in early July.
