TomTom.iphone Portable GPS device maker TomTom said today that their previously announced navigation application for the iPhone is now available through iTunes for $99.99.

Called simply TomTom app for iPhone, the application mimics the look and function of TomTom stand alone devices, and includes TomTom’s IQ Routes, which factors in historical traffic data when planning routes. The company says the feature can shorten travel times by up to 35%.

Other features include the ability to navigate to contacts in the phone’s address book, automatic re-routing if a turn is missed, a route demo or map of route for trip planning, alternative route options for avoiding roadblocks and toll roads, and a menu of six million points of interest that a user can navigate to and call from the iPhone.

Display options include landscape or portrait view, day or night color mode for best screen visibility in varying light conditions, and displayed information in18 different languages.

A mounting dock to charge and securely hold the phone on the dashboard or windshield is planned for later release. Price for the car kit will be about $120.
