Best new car deals for end of the year

The end of the year can a good time to buy a new car and take advantage of manufacturer incentives and rebates. (Read “Four shopping days left for the best new car prices.”) There may still be "leftovers" from the 2009 model year that dealers are looking to sell; automakers, too, are hoping to close the year with strong sales. Dealers also want to sell what they can now because the winter months are typically their slowest season. All these factors put the car buyer in a good position to negotiate and come out with a great deal on a good car.

We recently updated our list of the best new car deals, which highlights particularly attractive pricing on some Consumer Reports recommended models. These models stood out in our latest Best New Car Deals analysis as recommended vehicles that also offer the most potential savings below MSRP.
