With all the recent buzz about the array of smart-phone apps available, plus more coming all the time, this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas promises even more creative ways to use your iPhone, Android, or Blackberry. There’s even an entire 25,000 square foot exhibition area devoted to nothing but iPhone and iPod apps and accessories.
With all that in mind, it seemed only natural that to help navigate this year’s CES, we spring for the $1.99 Follow Me app, available at the iTunes app store and described as “The official iPhone/iPhone Touch application for the 2010 International CES.”
On paper (or screen) Follow Me looks pretty cool, especially for navigating something as big as the world’s largest consumer trade show. In addition to maps to guide you to booths and exhibitors throughout the sprawling Las Vegas Convention Center, Follow Me says it can pinpoint your own location in the LVCC, includes an exhibitor directory, and even lets you put together your own schedule and calendar of sessions, speakers you want to hear, and other events.
We’ve dropped the two bucks and downloaded our own copy for our iPhone. Stay tuned; we’ll let you know how it works, along with whatever other cool stuff it helps us find among the 20,000 new products show organizers promise this year.
