Toyota says all cars with bad pedals will be fixed within a month

Toyota has confirmed that redesigned pedals to remedy problems with unintended acceleration are now in full production at supplier CTS, and that the two companies are working closely on a fix for cars already on the road. The Associated Press reports the automaker has said repairs to all affected vehicles will be completed within a month.

CTS had earlier been identified as maker of the suspect pedals.

While the automaker maintains that instances of sticking pedals are rare and generally do not occur suddenly, they say their primary concern is to do the right thing for their customers and restore confidence in their vehicles.

Toyota says they have begun contacting current owners to explain how they will fix their vehicles, and that customers with questions or concerns are advised to visit Toyota.com, contact the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331, or call their local dealer.
