It almost seemed like the Chrysler Sebring was the convertible nobody even wanted to rent. At least nobody around here did. Now the resurgent company has released photos – under some duress – of the new Chrysler 200 Convertible, the Sebring’s replacement. The “official” photos were released on Chrysler’s website only after they were leaked to a number of automotive blogs. 

The 200 has new exterior styling that makes it less awkward-looking. But the big news is the better interior and improved suspension. Chrysler says it has replaced 23 of the 28 bushings in the suspension. Engine choices will include the company's new 3.6-liter V6 engine putting out about 283 hp, about 50 more than the 3.5-liter V6 it replaces. A 173-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder will also be available. Both will be mated to a six-speed automatic transaxle. Like the Sebring, the 200 is the largest four-passenger convertible sold and will be offered with either a folding steel hardtop or a soft top. Trim levels include Touring, Limited, and S. Sirius TravelLink will be offered, providing traffic data, gas prices, sports scores, weather forecasts, and movie listings.
