Like many of our readers who own 2011 Hyundai Sonatas, we’ve taken our Sonata Turbo back to the dealership multiple times to fix an issue that causes the car to drift to the left, particularly on the highway. And like many of our readers, we’re still not satisfied with Hyundai’s fix; our car still drifts to the left, though much less so than it did originally.
As we’ve said before, with the basic corrections made, we don’t think the problem is a safety issue. With both hands on the wheel, the pull in our sedan is barely noticeable. Even with just one hand on the wheel in our car, the problem is easy to correct and not fatiguing. And we think driving with no hands on the wheel is a safety issue in any car.
After the last repair, to replace the left front strut, we found the behavior is improved, but it isn’t cured. So we’re keeping in touch with Hyundai, as well as our dealer, to see what more they can do for us. Hyundai assures us it has a team of engineers working on a more satisfactory solution. We’ll keep you posted if we make any progress with our Sonata Turbo.
