Honda announced pricing for the all-new CR-V, which will start at $22,295 for the LX 2WD and rise to $28,295 for the EX-L AWD. Destination fee will be $810. These prices are $181 more than the outgoing model; models with navigation actually see the price drop by $300.
The CR-V will be powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 185 hp. A five-speed automatic transmission is standard. EPA fuel economy is estimated at 23/31/26 mpg (city/highway/combined) for 2WD and 22/30/25 for the AWD model. This is an increase between 1-3 mpg over the 2011 model.
New 2012 features include a 60/40-split folding rear seat, lower cargo floor, standard Bluetooth, and rear-view camera. The SUV also has an SMS text message system that can read texts from cell phones through the audio system. Pandora radio interface is also standard with compatible iPhones and works with the car’s audio controls.
We recently checked out the new CR-V. See our initial impressions in the video below. We’ll be purchasing our own CR-V to fully test and see how it stacks up in the competitive small SUV category.
