CES 2012: TomTom to provide built-in navigation for Fisker
Jan 10, 2012 2:10 PM

TomTom and Fisker Automotive have inked a deal making the GPS device maker the exclusive provider of built in navigation for the new Karma luxury sedan for three years.

Under the terms of the agreement, TomTom will provide mapping data, along with point of interest database and location information for North America and Europe to the California-based maker of luxury electric vehicles. The system will offer voice control, and information will be delivered on what is described as the industry’s first 10.2-inch built-in touch screen interface, which is also used for climate control, entertainment, phone, and other functions.

Fisker says the TomTom navigation will work even on Karma models that have already been sold, but no announcement has been regarding its availability with the upcoming Fisker Surf.
