Porsche recalls 2011-12 Cayenne SUVs for loose headlights
Feb 24, 2012 10:15 AM
2012 Porsche Cayenne SUV

Porsche has issued a recall for its Cayenne SUVs. More than 20,000 models of the Porsche sport-utility vehicles have headlamps that can become loose and detach, possibly reducing driver visibilities and increase the risk of a crash said the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

According to NHTSA, the recall affects 2011 and 2012 Porsche Cayenne SUVs—including the S, S Hybrid, and Turbo models—made from March 2010 through January 2012.

Porsche will notify Cayenne owners to bring their SUV into dealerships where mechanics will replace the headlamp locking assemblies free of charge.

Porsche Cayenne owners can also call the company's toll-free customer support line (800-767-7243) for more information regarding this recall, which Porsche has identified as recall number AC01.

For more vehicle recall information, consumers can check out the NHTSA website: www.SaferCar.gov.
