Magellan SmartGPS navigator may be too smart for its own good

Magellan has just introduced its latest connected device to the world of portable navigation with their new SmartGPS, and we're already well into testing this creative new device in our lab and on the road. So far, we're impressed with the features and variety of updated information SmartGPS can deliver. But we're not crazy about how this info is displayed and how awkward it can be to access.

Superhero car seat doesn't leap to the top of our ratings

Even kids who usually squirm in their car seats might jump at the chance to sit in the lap of a superhero like Batman or such cartoon characters as Dora the Explorer or SpongeBob SquarePants. And thanks to KidsEmbrace they can. For $160 you can buy toddler booster seats imprinted with those characters as well as race car driver Dale Earnhardt, Jr. But when the testers at Consumer Reports tried to install the fanciful KidsEmbrace seats, they were not amused.

Should states lower the blood alcohol content levels for drunk driving?

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) recently recommended that states reduce their blood alcohol content (BAC) limits from .08 to .05, or even lower, in an effort to eliminate alcohol-impaired driving.
