Ashton Kutcher has gained 1 million followers on the micro-blog Twitter, beating out CNN in a friendly race to see who could hit the million mark first.

Earlier this week, Kutcher noticed that he and the media company were almost neck-and-neck, and he threw down. Larry King responded to the challenge with a video of his own, warning Kutcher that "CNN will bury you" and that there was "the strong possibility [Ted Turner] will send some bison to your house." Despite losing the race, CNN has since crossed the million-follower threshold.

Kutcher also appears to be following up on his promise to donate 10,000 mosquito nets to Malaria No More, a charity fighting that disease.
