It's official. In a little more than two weeks, the Palm Pre, a smart phone that impressed us in our first glimpse at it, will go on sale for $199 (with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate). The phone will be sold directly by Sprint and at Best Buy, Radio Shack, and select Walmart stores.
The Pre will become available, then, just two days before Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference where many industry insiders believe details of a new iPhone and other products, such as an Apple netbook, will be unveiled.
Pre accessories will include the $70 Touchstone charging kit, which includes a charging dock and back cover for the Pre. The dock and back cover will also be available separately from for $49.99 and $19.99, respectively. —Mike Gikas
