At the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, it's a trend that seems ready to blow up this year: "Appcessories" are toys you connect up in some way with your mobile device, marrying virtual and real-world play. Discovery Bay is one of the pioneers of this category and showed up at CES with several of its iPad toys.

Duo Plink lets you go head to head with another player. You answer questions that appear on the iPad by placing tokens on the Duo Plink color that matches their best guesses. Plink rotates and drops the winning tokens into the bank and keeps score for you. It's available for $30.

Atari Arcade lets your recreate and play old-school classic games on your iPad, complete with the requisite joystick and buttons. It's $60. And you can play a variety of games on Duo Pop; I played a word-building game in which you use your "popper" accessory to grab letters you want to use. That one is $50.

The company plans to add to its collection of appcessories this year; stay tuned till Toy Fair in February, when we should find out more.
