Cross-overs at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas are common. In addition to HDTV-maker Vizio's jump into PCs, computer brand Lenovo announced it was getting into the HDTV market—with a model powered by Google Android 4.0, otherwise known as "Ice Cream Sandwich."

The TV, Lenovo stresses, isn't a Google TV set but uses a customized version of the Ice Cream Sandwich, Google's mobile operating system just now making it's way on to certain smart phones and tablet computers.

The Lenovo K91 HDTV, according to the press release, will feature:

• A Qualcomm 8060 Snapdragon processor running at 1.5 Ghz
• 1 GB of RAM with 8 GB of storage on-board and a 2 GB SD card
• Internet connectivity to Lenovo's forthcoming cloud-based services
• An integrated 5 MP webcam with facial recognition
• A "motion-sensitive" remote control with integrated keyboard, touchpad and microphone
• Voice recognition that will control the TV functions via spoken commands

The K91 smart TV, will be available in two screen sizes (42- and 55-inches) but only in China for now.
