You've got a flat panel TV that delivers a stunning picture. And if you wish the audio from your HDTV wasn't so flat, maybe it's time to step up to a full-blown home theater system. But, which to choose?
For the weekly Sound byte segment, Web Associate Editor Carol Mangis discussed Consumer Reports' latest Ratings of home theater systems with the cast and audience of Dave Graveline's Into Tomorrow show. She mentioned two home-theater-in-box, or HTIB, models—the
Bose Lifestyle T20 and the Yamaha YHT-595. Both systems are in Consumer Report's list of Recommended home theater systems as models that deliver crisp surround sound to videos and sharp audio.
One word of caution: Both of these HTIBs come with receivers and multiple speakers, but don't include Blu-ray players.
