If you're thinking even a 55-inch HDTV won't do justice to the bone-crunching action of this year's NFL season, Vizio is launching a new E-series lineup of LCD TVs with 60- and 70-inch screen sizes. The 60-inch sets is priced at $1,000, while the larger model will sell for $2,000.

As another option for those looking for a new HDTV, the company will also have new 55- and 65-inch sets in its M series. The 55-inch model is 2D-only and will sell for $950. With the 65-inch sets, you'll have a choice of 2D for $1,500 or $1,700 for a 3D-capable model that uses Vizio's passive Theater 3D technology.

Vizio says the 60-inch set is currently available both online at Vizio.com and at retailers including Amazon, BJ's, Costco, eBay, Sam's Club, and Target. The other sets will be released closer to the holiday shopping season.

The E-series sets sport a new thin-frame design, and are full-featured models with LED backlights, 120Hz anti-blur technology, and built-in Wi-Fi. They also include Vizio's VIA Internet platform, with access to streaming movies and TV shows from Amazon, Hulu Plus, Netflix, and Vudu, plus Pandora Internet radio. The TV comes with a dual-sided remote with a full QWERTY keyboard on one side.

Details about the M-series sets weren't disclosed, but presumably they are similar to current M-series models, which are also smart TVs with LED backlights, 120Hz technology, and built-in Wi-Fi and access to online content. They. too, come with dual-sided remotes.

Here are the new E- and M-series models, with pricing:

  • 60-inch Vizio E601i-A3 E-series LCD TV, $1,000

  • 70-inch Vizio E701i-A3 E-series LCD TV, $2,000

  • 55-inch Vizio M550VSE, $950

  • 65-inch Vizio M650VSE, $1,500

  • 65-inch Vizio M3D651SV (3D), - $1,700
If you're looking for a very different option—a 3D smart TV with an extra wide 21:9 aspect ratio—Vizio is selling its 58-inch XVT3D580CM set for $2,000. Check out our recent first-look review to see what we thought of this TV.
