CES 2013: LG to start selling OLED TVs in March

If you're a TV enthusiast, I have a real "good news, bad news" scenario for you. LG said at its CES press conference this morning that you'll actually be able to buy its 55-inch OLED TV in the U.S. starting in March. The bad news: It's going to cost $12,000.

I was able to get a brief glimpse of the set, which really does make an impression with incredibly deep black levels, ultra high contrast, and colors that pop on the screen. During the next few days, we're hoping to get a closer, more prolonged look at the set, as well one that Samsung will be showing.

And of course, we can't wait to get both of these sets in our labs for extensive testing. Keep checking back with our blog for our first impressions of these sets, as well as the new Ultra HD TVs from several manufacturers, once the CES exhibits open tomorrow. And check out the rest of our CES 2013 coverage.
