CES 2013: Low-cost Acer Iconia B1-A71 may be the right tablet for kids

If you're looking for a tablet for kids, you probably don't want to put too much strain on your wallet. Acer's new Iconia B1-A71 might be just what you need. Priced starting at $150, at 0.7 pounds, it's lighter than many of the 7- to 8-inch tablets in our Ratings.

The Iconia B1-A71 has a 7-inch screen with 1024x600 resolution. Acer likely opted for such resolution—many of the best tablets have at least 1280x800 displays—to keep the price down.

Storage starts out at a meager 8GB, but that could be plenty for kids who don't need to store a lot of music, video, and pictures. You can add up to 32GB through the built-in microSD slot. Other features include voice search, a micro-USB port, and a front-facing webcam.
