If you’ve had enough of those slightly risqué TV ads promoting erectile dysfunction drugs, there may be a law to make it all go away—at least between the hours of 6am and 10pm. That’s if Representative James P. Morgan (D-Va) has his way. Rep. Morgan proposed a bill today, known as the Family’s for ED Advertising Decency Act, that would restrict the hours that erectile dysfunction advertising would appear on television or radio.
The question of decency is one thing, but we’re more concerned that these ads don’t give consumers the full story on prescription drugs. For example, in our recent CR Adwatch video on Cialis, we point out that the commercial highlights the convenience of the drug, but downplays the harmful side effects. Take a look.
