What do Charlie Sheen and Consumer Reports Health have in common?
Mar 10, 2011 5:01 PM
It's hard to believe that Consumer Reports has played even a bit part in the ongoing drama series known as "Charlie Sheen," but there it is, as shown in the photo at right from a recent segment of Inside Edition: the 1991 Consumer Reports book The Complete Drug Reference, allegedly signed by the warlock himself with a delightful and wry inscription to his then-beloved: "To Ging, From one Druggie To Another. Love, C."
We obviously don't endorse the use of our materials to support any illicit activity--by Charlie Sheen or anyone else. But we're not above taking advantage of the opportunity to point out that when you have questions about your medications, the potential side effects, concerns over interactions, or you just want to know more, sources such as our Best Buy Drugs Reports or the National Libary of Medicine are good places to start. (No books required!) Or you can call your doctor or pharmacist--or other health-care provider.
And one other thing: You don't need to "win" the online auction that's now started for the old book--bidding was already up to $1,000 when we posted this blog--to get the most updated information already at your fingertips. Just see our prescription-drug coverage.
