No oven or range we've tested is as fast as the TurboChef, though the Electrolux Wave-Touch smoothtop electric range wasn't that far off—and costs about $6,000 less. With its Perfect Turkey setting that uses a meat probe to measure the internal temperature and adjust cooking time, it produced a juicy, 13-pound bird in 98 minutes, about half the time of most other electric ranges.
If you're on a much tighter budget, consider the $150 NuWave Pro Infrared Oven. Using direct heating, convection, and infrared cooking, in two hours it made a 10-pound turkey that was tasty and juicy with a moist interior, albeit a little bit overdone toward the outside. The NuWave oven is available with an extender ring that allows you to cook larger turkeys. e-mail | Twitter | Forums | Facebook

I bought a NuWave Oven about a year ago. I really like it and use it a lot so I wanted to buy one for for each of my two children living on their own. What I don't like is the high pressure sales pitch you get over the phone. The items that come "free" with the oven have exorbitant shipping and handling fees which more than pay for the items. When I bought mine, I got every accessory. This time, I didn't get any "free" items and I only got one accessory kit. I haven't used the pizza flipper kit once. I used the "free" blender kit once, it's not worth it. I use the extender ring kit all the time. I use the liner kit and rack, but decided maybe my kids could improvise. I hope not ordering the liner kit wasn't a mistake. The new telephone sales pitch is all automated. The old one actually had humans you could say "No" to, and as I recall, at the end of the sales pitch, after you've purchased everything, the old pitch used to include one last pitch that you could get a second NuWave Oven at half price. I was hoping for that pitch because I wanted two ovens. Now the automated voice asks you up front how many you want to buy. For the accessory pitches, each one is done individually. They are long winded, twist-your-arm sales pitches. You can either choose "Yes" that you want the accessory, or you can choose to ask the automated voice to repeat the offer--or you can not make a sound that could be interpreted as a yes--then there is a LOT of silence leaving you time to fidget to see if you'll bite. Resist the urge to push buttons or talk. The voice repeats the pitch and says, "I'm sorry, I did not hear your response." Stay silent. The voice says again, "I'm sorry, I didn't hear your response, please say yes or push the star key to hear the description again." Stay silent. Eventually the voice will say, "If you don't want this option, press zero." You have to go through this with every option. Even with obtaining only one accessory kit for each NuWave Oven--the extender ring and rack--I ended up spending $389.64 ($194.82 each) for two NuWave ovens because the shipping and handling is so excessive. The advertised cost for the basic model (without the extender ring, the liner and the racks) was "three easy payments of $39.99, i.e. $120. The NuWave oven is a great product, but the sales pitch is unnecessarily painful and it's terrible how they nickle and dime you to get the liner, the racks and the extender kit. The product sells itself, they shouldn't make up the difference in shipping and handling and excessive cost on accessories.
i found the nuwave oven with no extras for 59.99 plus shipping on tasteofhome.com
I just read all the comments on Nu Wave and find that ordering through the phone is a problem with being pitched to add items and cost. I bought mine at Bed, Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon. Also, they have a no questions asked return policy which if why I shop there all the time and was thrilled to see they have this product. I really love it but now I am worried about the crack problem----so if that happens I return it and get a credit on my card...so no brainer. I wonder if my electric bill will be higher for using it????
