Just a $25 rebate for a new dishwasher? Why bother? There are probably better sales every day at Sears and Home Depot.

Agreed, $25 is not an incentive that will change purchasing behavior. At least not mine.

No. The rebate is in addition to any sale prices.

I live in Kansas and your list says it started in December 2009. We just purchased a new maytag washer at Sears Jan. 1, 2010 and was delivered yesterday, Jan. 6, 2010. I'd like to get a percentage off it but don't know where to go for it. Can you help me? Thank you, Betty

What about energy efficent windows?

The 3 appliance bundle option rebate only applies to fridge, clothes washer and dishwasher. But I want to replace my fridge, stove and dishwasher. WTF?

There is a fed tax rebate already for windows. This is for appliances only as the program name indicates. DA

This is the first I have heard that the "cash for clunkers program" pertained to household appliances, instead of cars. It would be great if there were public service announcements on the radio and TV for making more consumers aware of this. Thanks for the information.

The State of Florida on your interactive map of "Cash For Clunkers" gives a response of "cannot be found" although clicking the surrounding states shows no problem.

The state of Pennsylvania is a joke. Only covering water heaters, boilers, and furnaces and yet they got more money from the federal government for this program than most other states and must be "installed by state-registered contractor". What a joke.

Texas ran out of rebates for appliances on the first day they were released. System so badly administered that it was impossible to get a rebate for a lot of people including myself.

Tennessee is only giving rebates on heating/air conditioning? I upgraded a couple of years ago to energy efficient units in those appliances. I was hoping for kitchen appliances--refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Boo TN.

What is any are advantages to a steam washer or dryer?

I was hoping to get a rebate for a new heat pump for my condo apartment BUT there are no energy star criteria for Packaged Terminal AC's or Heat pumps, they have yet to define what the criteris should be.

Disappointing, these things cost more $500 and up to $1000 for a living room size unit.

how can i find out the material used (wood, thermofoil etc) for the kitchen cabinets featured on the cover of the consumer reports kitchen planning and buying guide 2010 (special annual issue)?

Where do I go for 30-40 gallon water heater ratings by CR. Not tank less? Send answer to: bourke@dslextreme.com
