Recall: Martinelli's Gold Medal Sparkling Cider for defective bottle seals
Jan 4, 2012 5:00 PM

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall warning for shrink-wrapped bundles of Martinelli's Gold Medal Sparkling Cider. The 250-mL sized bottles of sparkling apple cider have defect seals "that could break when opening," said the federal agency.

The recall affects only 250-mL sized bottles of Martinelli's Gold Medal Sparkling Cider sold in the Western United States. The recalled bottles have "Best By" dates, printed in a gold colored box on the bottle's labels, of either 11 APR 2014, 12 APR 2014, 13 APR 2014, or 14 APR 2014. They can be further identified by the UPC codes printed on the shipping cases (4124499932), the six-pack's shrink wrap (41244462526), and on the bottle's label (4124400256).

Consumers who have the recalled bottles of Martinelli's Gold Metal Sparkling Cider are asked to return the product to the place of purchase for replacement or credit.

For more information, consumers can call S. Martinelli & Company's toll-free recall hotline (800-662-1868, ext. 333) or e-mail the company: Customer_Service 'at' martinellis.com.
