Best values in GPS navigators
Dec 12, 2008 6:07 PM

Tightwad_tod_marks_consumer_reports The latest edition of the Consumer Reports Value Index™ is now available. This week, we’re taking a close look at some of the newest portable GPS navigators, including several models that provide traffic data.

Working with the very latest GPS Ratings and approximate retail pricing, the Value Index data plots price against the overall Ratings score for GPS navigators. It places the units into one of three value zones — High, Medium, and Low — based on the price and performance of all sets in those categories. Products on the upper right side of the chart offer better values than those further to the left and bottom.

The Value Index chart below covers basic GPS units. For a detailed explanation, as well as our Value Index for traffic-ready GPS units, navigate over to the Consumer Reports Cars Blog.
