Nouriel Roubini: What to do now
Apr 22, 2009 12:25 PM

He correctly predicted the current recession, but Nouriel Roubini is not ready to forecast when it will end. To survive the “difficult, treacherous times” still ahead, he says consumers should save more and spend less, prepare for the possibility of job loss, and stick with safe investments until the market stabilizes.

Roubini is a professor of economics at New York University’s Stern School of Business and chairman of RGE Monitor, an economic consultancy firm. Watch the video for more advice from Roubini on surviving the economic downturn.

Roubini spoke recently with the staff of Consumers Union. This is the last in a five-part series.

Part 1: It’s not all bad news
Part 2: Surviving the next year
Part 3: Falling prices and deflation
Part 4: Help for homeowners
