5 (more) Web sites for retirement planning
Apr 7, 2009 11:58 AM

Yesterday I posted my nominations for five top Web sites for retirement planning. Here, in no particular order, are some other sites that would-be retirees (or even already-retirees) might find useful.

treasurydirect.gov This is the place for information on Treasury securities, a longtime favorite of retirees looking to invest for safety and income.

napfa.org The National Association of Personal Financial Advisors is an organization of fee-only financial planners, the kind who don’t receive commissions on the products they recommend to clients. Type in your Zip, and the site will give you a list of members in your area.

retirementliving.com This site offers a wide range of information for retirees, including state-by-state tax laws, helpful if you’re considering an interstate move.

internationalliving.com Advice and information for anyone flirting with the idea of retiring to another land. If you’re really serious about it, also check out the U.S. State Department’s site, particularly its Country Specific Information pages. —Greg Daugherty
