No wonder retirees often seem so perky
Feb 6, 2010 7:01 AM
Sounds like today's retirees aren't up all night fretting about low CD rates, stock market volatility, or the fate of Social Security. In fact, they seem to be getting more rest than just about anybody, according to a new Gallup poll.

Some 78 percent of retirees surveyed said they felt well rested, compared to 64 percent of non-retirees. That jibes with a study we covered here last month that found French retirees slept better than their working counterparts.

Who feels especially rest-deprived? Perhaps not surprisingingly, it's people 49 and younger, women, those with low incomes, and anyone with kids under 18 in the house, per the poll.
