Tell us how you scored a hotel room for less

Have you ever felt like bragging to the world about a huge bargain you scored on a hotel room? Maybe you smooth-talked your way to a deal at the front desk, did a ton of research online, or kept calling the hotel until the clerk made you a better offer. Perhaps you landed a dream room through a low-ball bid on Priceline, or tweaked your check-in or check-out dates to reap substantial savings.

Be it through guile, perseverance, homework, or the power of your personality, we'd like to share your success stories with other readers in an upcoming issue of Consumer Reports. Later this spring, we'll be publishing the results of our latest hotel survey, of nearly 30,000 subscribers, along with Ratings of 48 nationwide chains on parameters such as cleanliness, service, and comfort. Whether you're looking for luxury or low cost, we'll sort out the winners from the losers, and direct you to the chains that offer the best value and fewest problems. And, of course, we'll provide advice on how to get a great deal.

So if you have a story to tell, please speak up and chime in. Be sure to include the name of the hotel, its location, how much you saved, and how you scored the discount. You might end up hearing from us with some follow-up questions.Tod Marks
