Young people say it should be okay to play electronic games while on the tarmac, older individuals disagree
Dec 12, 2011 6:00 PM

Alec Baldwin is not alone. According to a new survey by Poll Position, 70 percent of adults age 18 to 29 say it should be okay to play electronic games while on a plane that is sitting on the tarmac waiting to takeoff.

Following the controversy over Alec Baldwin being escorted off an American Airlines flight for playing such a game while his flight waited on the runway, Poll Position surveyed 1,356 people about whether or not such game playing should be allowed.

In addition to the 70 percent of young adults who agreed with Baldwin, 24 percent of that age group said you should not be able to play electronic games while waiting for takeoff, and 6 percent had no opinion.

On the other side of the spectrum, however, Americans 65 and older (and closer to Baldwin's actual age group) did not seem to agree with their younger counterparts. Fifty six percent of those surveyed said you should not be allowed to play electronic games while awaiting takeoff, while only 21 percent said you should, and 23 percent said they did not have an opinion.

What do you think?
