This week in safety: Recall roundup
Aug 28, 2009 3:18 PM

Recall-Roundup0828 Toyota recalled 95,700 Toyota and Scion models in 19 cold-weather states because of a possible brake problem. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it is possible that at “extremely low ambient temperatures” the brakes could lose power-assist, which would “lead to lengthened vehicle stopping distances.”

The recall is regional affecting owners of the 2009 and 2010 Corolla and Matrix models and some 2008 and 2009 Scion xD models in Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Other recalls
In the past few days we've noted the recalls of strollers, ranges, blinds and shades, refrigerators and bassinets, but here are some other recalls announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission recently that you may have missed.
