Retail giant Target Corp. of Minneapolis, Minn. along with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced today a recall of 206,000 step stools. The wooden pieces of utility furniture can break apart or collapse under the weight of the user, posing a fall hazard.

The stools, sold under the Circo and Do Your Room (DTR) brand names, have two steps and comes in various colors, including natural, natural and red, white and honey. The Circo step stool has a lid on the bottom step that lifts to provide storage while the DYR models have the storage lids as their top step. Both brands have labels baring their respective brand names and UPC codes underneath the step stool.

The faulty step stools were sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from January 2007 through October 2010 for between $25 and $30.
