The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Toyota has issued a recall warning regarding 2011 Lexus RX 350 luxury sport-utility vehicles. The SUVs have improperly calibrated brake actuators that may lead to increased stopping distances and the possibility of collisions.

The recall is specific to RX 350s equipped with Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) systems and manufactured from August 2010 through May 2011. The improperly calibrated hydraulic control valves may prevent the right front wheel's brakes from being correctly applied during automatic anti-lock braking (ABS) or vehicle stability control (VSC) activation.

Toyota says about 32 RX350 SUVs may have this brake issue and will begin notifying affected owners this month. The recalled RX350s will have the faulty brake actuator replaced free of charge at local Lexus dealerships.
