More than 69,000 Subaru vehicles recalled for bad sunroofs
Sep 15, 2011 10:00 AM

Subaru has recalled 69,590 2011 Outback and Legacy vehicles because the glass of the sunroof can become loose or come off altogether. If the sunroof came off while the vehicle was on the road it would be a potential hazard to other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Affected vehicles were manufactured between August 3, 2010 through July 1, 2011. The glass of the sunroof can become loose or fall off entirely because the amount and position of the adhesive between the glass and the retainer is inadequately applied.

Subaru will be notifying owners in October. Dealers will inspect the glass adhesion condition and either apply more adhesive or replace the glass for free. For more information owners can call Subaru at 800-782-2783.

Recall: 2011 Subaru Legacy and 2011 Subaru Outback - Sun Roof Campaign ID #: 11V467000 [NHTSA]
