Recall: Nissan 370Z sports car and Infiniti G37 coupe for faulty power windows
Nov 16, 2011 9:30 AM

Nissan is recalling its 2011 Nissan 370Z sports cars and 2011-2012 Infiniti G37 luxury coupe due to a programming error in the cars' power windows electronics.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the sporty Nissan cars may come with auto-reverse power windows—electronics which automatically stops and reverses the window's closing when it detects a blockage.

But in approximately 1,788 Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 cars, that auto-reverse feature might not function within designed specifications. If a body part becomes trapped by a closing window, a pinch injury may result, says the federal regulatory agency.

Nissan says it will begin notifying customers affected by this recall and instruct them to bring their cars in to local dealerships for free repair work.

For more information, consumers can call Nissan's toll-free customer service telephone numbers (Nissan: 800-647-7261 Infiniti: 800-662-6200) or visit the NHTSA's website: www.SaferCar.gov.
