A recall notice has been issued for 21,900 E-Z-Go utility vehicles—Bad Boy ATVs, golf carts, and Cushman shuttle vehicles. According to the U.S. Product Safety Commission, the four-wheeled vehicles have bad ball joints that can break off and cause drivers to lose steering control and possibly crash.
The CPSC says E-Z-GO, a unit of the Textron Company in Augusta, Ga., is aware of 71 reports of ball joints breaking off its vehicles. There have been no reports of injuries.
The problem affects both gas- and electric-powered TXT golf carts, Cushman shuttle vehicles and Bad Boy off-road utility vehicles sold at E-Z-GO and Bad Boy dealers nationwide from February 2011 through July 2011 for between $6,650 and $10,650.
